Go Out and Have Fun — Often

Life feels so serious these days. Everyone’s running around chasing the dollar, hustling harder, and wearing themselves thin. And yeah, of course, we all need to pay the bills, keep a roof over our heads, and put food on the table. But isn’t the point of making a living also to actually live?

If you’re not having fun, then what’s the point of all this?

Take a second and look around next time you’re out. Notice people’s faces. Most of them are locked in this half-tired, half-worried expression. Rarely do you see someone just smiling for no reason. And if you do, it makes you wonder—what’s their secret? What are they doing that’s making them so happy?

Somewhere along the way, smiling for no reason became less normal than walking around with a frown. That’s crazy to me.

The truth is, fun isn’t optional. Fun is fuel. It’s the thing that lights up your spirit, moves your body, clears your mind, and keeps you from burning out. And yet, so many people treat it like a once-in-a-while reward—something you “get to have” only after working yourself into the ground.

But here’s the thing: If you wait until you’ve “earned” fun, you’ll never have enough time for it.

Make fun a requirement. Take a spontaneous road trip. Dance in your kitchen. Play that silly game with your kids. Sing in the car. Laugh with your friends until your cheeks hurt. Do it often. Not once in a blue moon.

Because that extra dollar you’re chasing? It won’t be there when you’re gone. But the memories, the laughter, the way your heart felt alive—that stays with you forever.

So here’s your reminder: Go out and have fun. Do it often. Fill your life with it.

Work will still be there tomorrow. But the moments you skip? You don’t get those back.

Now go get it—and have some fun today. Tomorrow may not come.
